The Bordon Food Bank is an independent food bank in Hampshire, UK, that is run by volunteers.
Bordon Food Bank plays a crucial role in supporting individuals and families who are facing financial hardship. As a volunteer-led initiative, it provides essential food supplies to those in need, ensuring that no one in the community goes hungry. The food bank relies on generous donations from local businesses, supermarkets, and residents, as well as partnerships with charities and support organisations. By offering emergency food parcels containing nutritious and balanced meals, the food bank acts as a lifeline for people struggling with the rising cost of living, unemployment, or unexpected financial difficulties.
Beyond providing food, Bordon Food Bank fosters a strong sense of community by offering additional support services. Volunteers often signpost users to other local resources, such as debt advice, mental health support, and housing assistance. The food bank also works closely with local schools, churches, and community groups to ensure vulnerable individuals, including children and the elderly, receive the help they need. Through these efforts, it not only addresses immediate hunger but also works towards long-term solutions that empower individuals to regain financial stability and independence.
The impact of Bordon Food Bank extends far beyond just food assistance; it brings the community together through acts of generosity and kindness. Many residents contribute by donating food, money, or their time, reinforcing the importance of solidarity and mutual support. Local businesses and organisations regularly hold fundraising events to ensure the food bank can continue its work. This collective effort strengthens community bonds and highlights the importance of looking out for one another in times of crisis. As the need for food banks continues to grow, the dedication and compassion of those involved in Bordon Food Bank make a tangible difference in improving the lives of many.
The Green Room School started with one room with three kids. Our staff built our schools. Our staff help our schools evolve in an ever changing educational landscape. Our leadership strategy is born from the floor, harnessing what works, challenging what doesn’t.
We are a school on a street, a school on a farm and school in a pub.
We are a workplace to thrive in. We want to be here. We want to make a difference to ourselves and others. We strive to be somewhere people want to work. We are for people who are looking for something different.
We are not afraid to look up and out for new ideas. We don’t follow the crowd, we start a path. We try, we fail, we listen, we talk, we change.
Our school values of care, aspire and achieve underpin everything that we do. We have high aspirations of the children and nurture and support them to achieve academically, socially and emotionally so that they can become confident, caring individuals.
Our school community encompasses the children, parents, governors, staff who we proudly work in partnership with. We are passionate about building strong relationships in order to enable learning without limits. We firmly believe that each child is unique and we ensure that we get to know them well.Through a broad and high quality curriculum, we aim to inspire a love of learning and a lifelong curiosity and desire to solve problems and answer questions.
Our focus is to help Greatham pay for a self funded astroturf sports pitch.
